This Privacy Policy describes how beforethejob.app ("we," "us") collects, uses, and shares information in connection with the Service. It should be read alongside our Terms of Service.

When you create an account, we collect information such as your email address and authentication credentials. If you complete employer verification, we may collect a work email domain or other verification signal.

When you submit a manager review, job offer, or related content, we collect the content of that submission along with associated metadata (such as the company, role, and timestamp) needed to display and process it.

Reviewer identity is not shown publicly on manager reviews. We retain a limited internal association between a review and the submitting account for moderation, abuse prevention, and legal compliance purposes, but this association is not displayed to other users, including claimed managers.

Where verification features are offered (such as work email or LinkedIn based verification, or proof uploads for manager claims), we collect the minimum information necessary to confirm the claim. Verification data, proof uploads, and the underlying details of how a user or manager was verified are not displayed on public pages.

Manager and company profile pages display aggregated ratings, structured review data, AI generated summaries, and (where applicable) compensation statistics. These public pages are designed to exclude reviewer identity and other private information described above.

We collect compensation details you submit (such as base salary, bonus, equity, and offer terms) and combine them with public wage data described in our Compensation Data Disclaimer. Individual offer submissions are not displayed with identifying information about the submitter.

We automatically collect technical information such as IP address, browser type, device identifiers, and usage patterns (such as pages visited) to operate, secure, and improve the Service.

We use cookies and similar technologies as described in our Cookie Policy.

• Display manager, company, and compensation profiles and summaries.
• Verify accounts, managers, and reduce fraud or abuse.
• Moderate content for compliance with our policies.
• Generate AI summaries, offer briefs, and related analysis.

• Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers who help us operate the Service (such as hosting, analytics, and AI processing providers), in connection with a business transfer, or where required by law.

Manager reviews (without reviewer identity), structured ratings, company information, aggregated compensation statistics, and AI generated summaries may be displayed publicly on the Service.

Offer briefs you generate are private by default and are only accessible to you and to anyone you choose to share a private link with. We do not make individual offer submissions, verification data, or proof uploads publicly visible.

Compensation and review data may be aggregated and displayed in summary form (such as ranges, medians, or percentiles) once a sufficient number of similar records exist, in order to reduce the risk that any individual submission can be identified or attributed to a specific person.

Submitted content may be processed by AI systems (operated by us or third-party providers) to generate summaries, offer analysis, and suggested messages. See our AI Disclaimer for more on how AI is used and its limitations.

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Aggregated or de-identified data may be retained after an account is deleted.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information on the Service. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

The Service is not directed to individuals under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us so we can address it.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to request access to, deletion of, or correction of your personal information, and to opt out of certain uses. California residents may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act and related laws. Requests can be submitted as described below.

You can review and update your account information, change notification preferences, and manage saved or followed items through your account settings.

You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. You may also submit a data access or deletion request through our Legal Contact page. Submitted offers are de-identified rather than deleted outright, since they contribute to anonymous, aggregate community compensation data.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
