Content Moderation Policy

Last updated: June 13, 2026

How Moderation Works

Moderation on beforethejob.app combines automated checks, structured review rules, and human judgment to balance two goals: protecting honest, useful anonymous feedback, and reducing the risk of false, harmful, or unsafe content.

Automated Review

Submissions are automatically screened for indicators such as private personal information, threatening language, protected-class attacks, and other patterns associated with policy violations described in our Community Guidelines.

Human Review

Content flagged by automated systems, reported by users, or otherwise identified as higher risk may be reviewed by a human moderator before publication or in response to a report.

Content We Remove

We may remove content that violates our Terms or Community Guidelines, including threats, harassment, private information, unsupported criminal accusations, protected-class attacks, or content that creates meaningful legal, safety, privacy, or trust risk.

Content We May Edit

In some cases, we may edit or redact a specific portion of a submission (such as removing a name, address, or other private detail) rather than removing the entire submission.

Content We May Summarize Instead of Displaying

Where a written comment cannot remain public but still reflects a meaningful pattern, we may retain the underlying structured rating and represent the pattern through an aggregate score or AI generated summary instead of displaying the original text.

Appeals

If your content is removed or restricted, you may request reconsideration through our Legal Contact page. Include the content in question and an explanation of why you believe it complies with our policies.

Reports From Users

Any user can report content they believe violates our policies. Reports are reviewed under our Takedown and Dispute Policy.

Reports From Managers

A manager who has claimed their profile may report content they believe is false or violates our policies. Claiming a profile does not allow a manager to remove a review simply because they disagree with it. See our Manager Claim and Response Policy.

Repeat Abuse

  • Repeated submission of content that violates our policies
  • Coordinated or inauthentic review activity
  • Attempts to circumvent moderation or verification systems

Accounts engaged in repeat abuse may face escalating restrictions, including suspension.

Emergency or Safety Concerns

If content suggests an imminent risk to someone's safety, contact local emergency services first. You may also report the content to us, but our review process is not a substitute for emergency assistance.

Transparency

We aim to apply these moderation practices consistently. We may update our moderation practices over time to respond to new patterns of abuse or to improve fairness, and will reflect material changes in this policy.
